As someone new to the roofing industry the events of Friday 12 February 2016 were a true eye opener.
LCP Roofing hosted a product lunch in association with Safintra Roofing and some of our clients with whom we are presently busy with large roof sheeting projects also attended. It was a good get together with a great group of people. We had a presentation by William Long, explaining how LCP Roofing completes a sheeted roof on site, the structural differences between tiled and sheeted roofs and the reasons behind them. Mark Farrell from Safintra demonstrated the site rolling mill and their new product, Newlok©. We also had a great LCP Roofing Sheeting team lead by Edward Chego and Thabo Tjale who demonstrated how to sheet a roof with Newlok©. There was an exchange of questions and answers between all parties involved that lead to a better understanding of the product.
Additionally we invited Hilti to demonstrate their products that we use on our roofing projects. The insight gained in their phenomenal products was also enlightening.
After the hard work had been completed in the blazing sun we had a great lunch where all parties involved had the opportunity to network and socialize.
From my perspective as someone who has never worked in a well connected group of companies like this, I had a wonderful opportunity in getting to know my suppliers and look forward to working very closely with them in future.
